I am afraid that my dining table does double duty as art studio. There might be more room in the basement, but it's so much easier and more practical to be upstairs with Anna while I paint. So, one of my resolutions in the new year was to organize and contain myself to one corner of the dining room, to leave the dining table for, well, dining. We drug this piece of furniture up from the basement, and voila, art work station! In a former life it was a kitchen island. I added a cork board for ideas and inspiration and a narrow shelf for drying panels. So far, very functional.
